The Ugandan government has agreed to a $160 million deal to export medical marijuana to Canada and Germany. Uganda’s Ministry of Health will supervise the operation.

The Ministry of Health said, “The ministry has received applications from 14 companies interested in the cultivation, extraction and export of cannabis oil for medical purposes in line with the provisions of Narcotic Drug and Psychotropic Substances (Control) Act 2015,” SDE reports.

Marijuana use for any purpose is still illegal in Uganda. The Ugandan government is excited about the new job and investment opportunity. It is a very lucrative deal for this small country.
